What do you feel is the predominant thing in the target. Is it natural or artificial? Surrounded by land or water?

Write several descriptors down. Write down the first thing that comes to your mind. The fainter, the better.

Information is coming from your mind and autonomic nervous system. The idea is that your unconscious already knows everything there is to know about the target, it just has to communicate that to your conscious mind.

It does that through your body with very subtle sensations and feelings. Write down sensory information that comes up, like visuals, smells, tastes and temperatures.

You may start perceiving sizes, shapes and patterns — also known as dimensionals. You may even start to feel an emotional reaction to the target.

Imagine yourself floating several hundred feet over the target area. Is there anything surprising about the target that you can perceive?

Make a note of your final impressions about the target. Pull the top photo from the envelope and see how you did. Take your time to really look at the colors and shapes of the image and compare it to your notes.

You may be surprised at the results. The main point of RV is to learn about yourself, not just to be accurate.

Remember that remote viewing is an ability you may cultivate. Repeat the process above for the remaining targets in the envelope.

When Philip K. Dick went to the dentist in February , the acclaimed science fiction author did not know that his view of reality was about to change.

He was in a lot of pain with what turned out to be an impacted wisdom tooth, and was sedated with sodium pentothal while the dentist removed the tooth.

When the courier arrived, Dick answered the door and was suddenly taken aback by a pendant she was wearing. It was a fish ornament, which she explained Christians adopted as a symbol of their religion.

This was not his first experience with visions and hearing voices. The voice he heard was the same voice he had heard years before while in college.

During the next eight years, he wrote thousands of pages about his visions and voices. His novels were more autobiographical than they were science fiction.

But, was it all science fiction? He received multiple communications from Valis, had dreams and visions about the future, and spent the rest of his life trying to understand why he gained such supreme knowledge.

Philip Kindred Dick was born in December during the cold Chicago winter. He had a twin sister, Jane, who lived for only about eight weeks.

Whatever happened, Dick went through his life always missing his sister and blaming his mother for her death. His father left the family when he was only 5 years old.

Shortly after that, he and his mother moved to Berkeley, California, where he lived most of his life. First published when he was just a teenager, his first short story marked the beginning of a prolific writing career.

Although he successfully published a number of his stories, he was not such a success financially. He was always running out of money and seemed to live from advance to advance.

Despite drug use allegations, he was able to continue writing. By the time of his death, he had published more than short stories and 44 novels.

His books often referenced precognition, and Dick believed he himself had this ability. He also heard voices, or at least a voice.

As a young man taking the physics portion of a college entrance exam, Dick found that he did not understand eight of the 10 questions.

Suddenly, he heard the voice explain to him, in a completely understandable way, what he needed to know.

As a result, he received a perfect score on the test. He heard the same voice again years later, when it explained to him what was happening in a television documentary that he had had difficulty understanding.

In , the same voice returned when he had his life-changing vision in response to the fish-pendant worn by the pharmacy delivery girl and he began his regular communications with Valis.

Although Dick reported only sporadic communications with the voice until , after that date, the communications became fairly frequent and routine.

Valis gave him advice on improving his health, his appearance and his financial situation. Dick credited the voice with saving the life of his young son by describing the medical condition the boy suffered from and urging Dick to get the child immediately to a doctor.

He convinced his wife of the need to take their seemingly healthy boy to the doctor where they discovered the child had the exact condition the voice described to Dick.

Dick believed the voice he heard was from God, or at least from some higher power. He wrote continuously about what he experienced.

He ended up writing thousands of pages and hundreds of thousands of words in his attempt to make sense of it. Almost exactly seven years after the first letter, Philip K.

Without realizing it, he had accurately predicted the circumstances surrounding his own death. Some reports say he died of a stroke.

Others claim it was congestive heart failure. Others regale in the mystery of why he died so young. Philip K. Dick left behind, in addition to his short stories and novels, his influence on other sci-fi writers and pop culture, as well as many mind-bending films.

Unfortunately, he did not live to see his work on the big screen. He also left behind more than 8, pages about his experiences with Valis since his vision.

The pages had narrow margins and were mostly single spaced with numerous handwritten journal entries. Dick referred to this body of work as his Exegesis.

Was Philip K. Dick more than just a legendary science fiction author? Want more like this article? Try Your Eyes at Remote Viewing 1. Select a range of targets Ask a friend or family member aka remote viewing assistant to select pictures.

Marks and Kammann discovered that the notes given to the judges in Targ and Puthoff's experiments contained clues as to which order they were carried out, such as referring to yesterday's two targets, or they had the date of the session written at the top of the page.

They concluded that these clues were the reason for the experiment's high hit rates. Examination of the few actual transcripts published by Targ and Puthoff show that just such clues were present.

To find out if the unpublished transcripts contained cues, Marks and Kammann wrote to Targ and Puthoff requesting copies.

It is almost unheard of for a scientist to refuse to provide his data for independent examination when asked, but Targ and Puthoff consistently refused to allow Marks and Kammann to see copies of the transcripts.

Marks and Kammann were, however, able to obtain copies of the transcripts from the judge who used them. The transcripts were found to contain a wealth of cues.

Most of the material in the transcripts consists of the honest attempts by the percipients to describe their impressions.

However, the transcripts also contained considerable extraneous material that could aid a judge in matching them to the correct targets.

In particular, there were numerous references to dates, times and sites previously visited that would enable the judge to place the transcripts in proper sequence Astonishingly, the judges in the Targ-Puthoff experiments were given a list of target sites in the exact order in which they were used in the tests!

According to Marks, when the cues were eliminated the results fell to a chance level. Students were also able to solve Puthoff and Targ's locations from the clues that had inadvertently been included in the transcripts.

Marks and Kamman concluded: "Until remote viewing can be confirmed in conditions which prevent sensory cueing the conclusions of Targ and Puthoff remain an unsubstantiated hypothesis.

As previously concluded, remote viewing has not been demonstrated in the experiments conducted by Puthoff and Targ, only the repeated failure of the investigators to remove sensory cues.

The information from the Stargate Project remote viewing sessions was vague and included a lot of irrelevant and erroneous data, it was never useful in any intelligence operation, and it was suspected that the project managers in some cases changed the reports so they would fit background cues.

Marks in his book The Psychology of the Psychic discussed the flaws in the Stargate Project in detail. The possibility of cues or sensory leakage was not ruled out, no independent replication , some of the experiments were conducted in secret making peer-review impossible.

Marks noted that the judge Edwin May was also the principal investigator for the project and this was problematic making huge conflict of interest with collusion, cuing and fraud being possible.

Marks concluded the project was nothing more than a "subjective delusion" and after two decades of research it had failed to provide any scientific evidence for remote viewing.

Marks has also suggested that the participants of remote viewing experiments are influenced by subjective validation , a process through which correspondences are perceived between stimuli that are in fact associated purely randomly.

However, he indicated the importance of its process-oriented approach and of its refining of remote viewing methodology, which meant that researchers replicating their work could avoid these problems.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Remote viewing Claims The alleged paranormal ability to perceive a remote or hidden target without support of the senses.

Death and culture Parapsychology Scientific literacy. While this was appropriate in that situation, it makes it impossible to interpret the role of the paranormal phenomena independently.

Also, it raises some doubts about some well-publicized cases of dramatic hits, which, if taken at face value, could not easily be attributed to background cues.

In at least some of these cases, there is reason to suspect, based on both subsequent investigations and the viewers' statement that reports had been "changed" by previous program managers, that substantially more background information was available than one might at first assume.

This is because the current claim is based entirely upon a negative outcome—the sole basis for arguing for ESP is that extra-chance results can be obtained that apparently cannot be explained by normal means.

But an infinite variety of normal possibilities exist and it is not clear than one can control for all of them in a single experiment. You need a positive theory to guide you as to what needs to be controlled, and what can be ignored.

Parapsychologists have not come close to this as yet. Marks and Kammann argued that the 'cues' - clues to the order in which sites had been visited—provided sufficient information for the results, without any recourse to extrasensory perception.

Indeed Marks himself was able to achieve percent accuracy in allocating some transcripts to sites without visiting any of the sites himself, purely on the ground basis of the cues.

From Occam's razor, it follows that if a straightforward natural explanation exists, there is no need for the spectacular paranormal explanation: Targ and Puthoff's claims are not justified".

The ability to view information about a person, place, or event is a skill that can be learned through diligent effort and practice.

Before you begin, you should try to place yourself in the proper physical and mental state required to remote view successfully. You should be open to receiving any and all information on whatever you decide to focus on because you never know what pieces of information are vital until you are finished with the viewing.

Experienced psychics and beginners alike can benefit from practicing this skill. Planning some basic experiments to start with is a good place to begin.

Ask an assistant to put an image or a note into an envelope, ensuring that you as the viewer have no clue about what the image or note could be.

Another simple experiment could consist of sending the person acting as your assistant out of your immediate vicinity and into another room or leaving the home or building completely.

Once they are in their new location, have them perform a specific act or a daily activity and see if you are able to sense what they are doing.

If you are doing this without an assistant, you can still practice on your own by focusing yourself on what the weather is in a specified location and then checking it soon afterward to check your accuracy.

Have a close friend or family member act as your remote viewing assistant by selecting 5 to 10 photos. They should cut these images out of the magazine or wherever they came from and then paste the images onto a blank sheet of white paper with only one picture per paper.

Make sure that these are not cartoons — these should be images from the real world. Pictures of things like nature, architecture, or people will be perfect.

Ask your remote viewing assistant not to select a target that could be offensive or distracting to you, the viewer. When beginning to practice your remote viewing, you should note that it is not uncommon to view cloudy information that you receive that holds some type of attachment to your own personal memories or interactions.

You can prepare yourself for this by going into your remote viewing session with as clear and clean of a state of mind and body as possible. Meditating can help you here as well as closing your eyes in order to better focus on viewing the target in your mind through a portal, such as a window or even a magnifying glass.

As you are taking note of whatever images or other information enters your mind, make sure you are jotting everything down. Even the faintest of images are important, but you should still aim to be as descriptive as possible without letting any of your own personal judgment impact the information.

As you receive all of this information, it enters your mind as well as the autonomic nervous system. This means that your unconsciousness is already aware of all of this information about your target; it just needs to send this information to your conscious mind.
